Meet the Photographer

Hello,

my name is soraya miranda

At Beauty & Valor, I specialize in branding for individuals and businesses, as well as milestone sessions that honor life’s defining seasons, from graduations to engagements and everything in between. I’m drawn to the moments that shape who you are, whether you’re building a new legacy or celebrating how far you’ve come.

My philosophy is rooted in a simple standard: show up with integrity, work with excellence, and tell every story honestly.

I believe photography should reflect more than appearance; it should capture your character, your growth, and the purpose behind this season of your life. I approach every session with intention, creating imagery that feels both authentic and enduring.

The Story Behind Beauty & Valor

It all started

with this photo

I have always known, even from a young age, that I was called to build something of my own. As a Business Management student, my mind has always been geared toward strategy and leadership, but I didn't truly find the "heart" of my future business until a providential trip to Arizona in the spring of 2025.

On a whim, I packed the same camera I’ve owned since 2018, a constant companion that I hadn't yet realized was my greatest tool for storytelling. Standing at the edge of the Grand Canyon, I witnessed a double rainbow arching over the vast, rugged landscape. It was a moment so exquisite and rare that I felt an overwhelming, need to capture and preserve its essence. That single photograph solidified a passion that had been quietly growing for years.

The rest of that trip changed the way I saw the world. I began to notice the intricate details of creation: the shifting light across the desert, the vibrant green of the trees, and the genuine "smile lines" in the eyes of the people around me. I knew then that I wanted to capture the stories of the world and share them through a lens of truth.

Returning home, I watched as God began to align every area of my life to turn this passion into a defined mission. From receiving a new desktop for editing and the exact funds needed for professional gear, to my job unexpectedly creating a part-time position so I could focus on my business and education—the doors haven't just opened; they’ve been held wide.

The name Beauty & Valor had been given to me by God back in 2023.

While I have dreamed of building a business since I was young, I didn’t know the specific industry it was intended for at the time—only that the name was meant for me. I always understood that these words represented the "Noble Character" of the woman described in Proverbs 31, but it wasn't until I held my camera that I realized photography would be the vessel for that calling. Today, the name reflects exactly how I want to lead: with a commitment to grace, strength, and a heart of service.

This vision dictates every interaction I have with my clients through three core pillars:

  • A Standard of Integrity: I believe in telling your story honestly. Just as the Proverbs 31 woman is defined by her truth, I am committed to capturing your most authentic self without distortion, honoring the person you were created to be.

  • A Culture of Diligence: My background in Business Management is more than a degree; it is a work ethic. I approach every session with the same "industry" and hard work described in scripture, ensuring a professional, high-end experience from the first consultation to the final gallery.

  • A Spirit of Kindness and Grace: Beyond the technical skill, I strive to lead with a heart of service. I want every individual to feel the "beauty" of their season and the "valor" of their journey, reflected through a lens of kindness and a deep fear of the Lord.

For years, I carried this name in my heart, waiting for the right moment to bring it to life. Today, Beauty & Valor is more than just a business; it is a commitment. I’ve traded my 'just in case' camera for a clear purpose: to document the world with grace, to work with a servant's heart, and to find the beauty and valor in every story I encounter.
